The Fuego is our quintessential insulation layer. Made with responsibly sourced 600-fill down and a water-resistant DWR-finished ripstop nylon shell, this lightweight insulated kids’ jacket is one we turn to year-round, from summer camping to winter wandering. This style is unisex. Also available in Men’s and Women’s.

  • To avoid clothes skewing the measurements, make sure they’re wearing something light and close-fitting, like leggings and a t-shirt (not jeans or a heavy jacket).
  • Ask them to stand up straight with their feet shoulder-width apart.
  • Height: Holding the tape measure vertically, measure their total height from the top of their head straight down to the floor.
  • Chest: With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the circumference around the fullest part of their chest.
  • Waist: With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the full circumference of their natural waist (at the crease when they bend to one side).
  • Hips: With the tape measure parallel to the ground, measure the circumference of the fullest part of their hips (usually around the top of their thighs, where they connect to their torso).
  • Sleeves: Starting at the base of their neck, measure along their shoulder, then down to the wrist. Their elbow should be slightly bent.
  • Inseam: Holding the tape measure vertically, measure straight down from their crotch to the floor. Take this measurement without shoes on.

This jacket is absolutely adorable. So far, it's keeping my kiddo warm, although it doesn't have as much loft as I expected. I have the adult version and the down feels thicker and fluffier. I don't know if this needs to be put in the dryer to thicken up or if the insulation is just different on the kids' jacket. We'll see what happens on the next r
